Occupational Therapy

Our expert therapists help you get back to participating in your daily activities.

Occupational therapists look at an individual’s overall function. This includes components of cognitive health, mental health, functional capacity and energy optimization. Your occupational therapist will teach you strategies to improve cognitive performance, manage emotions, improve sleep, optimize living with a chronic condition, assist in return to work or school, make your home safe and accessible, and help implement energy conservation techniques.

Occupational therapists assist with rehabilitation in the following capacities:

  • Cognitive rehabilitation (memory, concentration and more)

  • Household activities (cooking, cleaning, child-care), home safety assessments

  • Self-care tasks (bathing, dressing, eating), assistive devices, PSW support

  • Productivity (assist with return to work and school tasks, managing finances, scheduling), ergonomics, worksite assessments

  • Social activities (group gatherings, volunteering, community outreach)

  • Recreational activities (returning to hobbies, sports, exercise)

  • Discharge planning and transition management

  • Case Management and referring to additional required treatment services
